All own vineyards (several different ones) but wanted to keep the original Gevrey label so it doesn’t have a green-lettered label like his other wines from own vineyards. 20% new oak, all small. 40% stems. Tank sample. Light to mid crimson. Darker-fruited than the Volnay and the Fixin, but still beautifully fragrant with an aroma that reminds me of little dark-red berries in the wild. Firm, compact and very fine tannins. Mouth-watering finish. Long, too, and pure.  (JH)

The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin Village comes from three parcels and sees around 40% while bunches, ages in one-sixth new oak. It has a winsome nose with crisp, pure brambly red fruit, white pepper and clove aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, quite saline and peppery, gaining a little depth towards the finish. This is quite wonderful.
