Good pale color. Pure but reticent nose hints at lemon, crushed stone and minerals. Juicy, pure and penetrating, with subtle, youthfully high-pitched flavors of citrus and minerals. Quite firm-edged and closed today; another bottle tasted earlier in New York showed a creamier texture with terrific lemony verve, but this one, tasted at Moreau, was distinctly austere. Finishes minerally and long. Offers outstanding potential, but needs six or seven years.

Nose already a bit wet-wool-like. Lots of green fruit. Still very harsh. Wait but may well deliver eventually. (JR)
Rather closed, with hints of hard pear. Powerful peppery attack and long, fresh, spicy finish with moderate fruit density mid palate. Long but slightly drying finish. (JH)
Perfumed, pure aromas of white grapefruit, mint and minerals. The sweetest yet of these 2004s, with very intense flavors of lime and talc. This wine was moved from tank back into oak so that it could breathe a bit, notes Fabien. Still backward but not austere. Perhaps most expressive today on the juicy, very long finish.
