Score 90/100 · Drink 2023-2033, Neal Martin, Jan 2022
The 2017 Pommard Epenots 1er Cru comes across very reduced and quite oaky on the nose, which denudes this Pommard of the terroir expression of its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, cola and spicebox. Nicely proportioned with plenty of extract, though it misses some elegance on the finish. Close, but no cigar. Closure is Diam 5. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.
