Tasting notes
The 2022 Kiedrich Turmberg Riesling Trocken comes from the 3.8-hectare cru that is classified as VDP.Grosse Lage but internally as VDP.Erste Lage with reference to the own history. It opens with a coolish, precise, deep, stony and almost flinty bouquet due to the phyllite soils of the steep slope and intermingles these with ripe yellow stone fruit, lemon and floral aromas. On the palate, this is a full-bodied, very pure and elegant, mouth-filling yet structured and saline Turmberg with serious terroir expression and the intensity of the vintage. Bottled at the end of July like the Klosterberg and the Gräfenberg. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in August 2023.

Delicate white-fruit aromas are interwoven with a nimble floral character. Cool and austere with a minimalist purity, stony accents and a stony core. Straight, linear. Agile and nimble. Medium-bodied, beautifully balanced and expressive. Bitter, stony, zesty finish. (PS)
