Tasting notes
The 2020 Barolo Riserva Sarmassa is one of the more finessed wines in this range. It offers lovely delineation and energy throughout. Bright red-toned fruit, blood orange, rose petal, mint and white pepper are beautifully articulated in this mid-weight, classy Barolo from Brezza.

The certified organic Brezza 2020 Barolo Sarmassa is a quiet wine from a loud vintage. You'll appreciate how subdued and silky Nebbiolo performs in this expression. The wine shows a finely knit texture with little highlights of fruit, spice and licorice. Sarmassa enjoys southwest exposures with silty clay soils. Production is 8,698 bottles and 415 magnums.
Barolo. Certified organic by CCPB. Just mid ruby. Subtle yet concentrated red fruit on the nose and with stony notes. Energetic cranberry and raspberry palate. Light of touch and almost a little racy. Cracking tannins on the finish. (WS)
Pouring a medium brick red color, the 2020 Barolo Sarmassa is savory and layered, revealing aromas of root beer, baked cranberries, clove, and mint. Midweight, it offers tangy acidity on the palate, with more citrus orange and tangerine and fine but drying tannins. It’s going to show its best over the next 5-6 years.
