(50% vendange entier Bright, dark red. Reticent but pure aromas of red fruits, licorice and spices. Broad and suave but less sweet than the Poissenot owing to the stem influence. But complex and perfumed, offering hints of red cherry, dried flowers and peppery spices. Finishes with slightly edgy tannins that reach the teeth. Emmanuel is not sure that he likes the stem component here, but we agreed that this wine needs time.

Bright, dark red. Sappy aromas of raspberry, cherry, game and sweet oak. Concentrated, sweet and juicy but less forthcoming today than the Estournelles, and not currently showing that wine's verve in the middle palate. But this is quite complex, with flavors of red fruits, flowers, mint and spices saturating the palate. The impression of tannins is a bit tighter and more pronounced, but the fruit here is plenty ripe. This will require six or seven years of patience.

Really dark! (the first wine to be so) Some mossy elements. Lots of freshness too, Luscious but needs time to settle down, The oak tannins seem very slightly intrusive. (JR)

This is clearly the ripest wine among these '06s with an exceptionally pretty nose of fresh red pinot fruit nuanced by notes of dried flowers, game, warm earth and underbrush that is also picked up on the supple, sweet and detailed flavors that possess a really lovely mouth feel on the muscled and beautifully long finish. This is not robust but it knocks on the door while keeping all the individual structural components in perfect balance. Recommended though note that patience will be required.
