(25% new oak) Medium red. Raspberry, minerals and earth on the nose. Juicy and minerally, with flavors of redcurrant, tobacco and smoke. Fine-grained in the middle but a tad dry-edged on the back, finishing with firm structure and dusty tannins. The Rossignols do very little pigeage for this wine, which has a tendency to be tannic. Still, I wonder why these 2006s were bottled so late.

Good medium red. Aromas of red fruits, game and roast coffee are a bit less pure than those of the estate's other premier crus. Juicy but quite firm, even a bit youthfully tough. In a distinctly cooler style but with good lift. A rather austere wine that finishes with slightly dry tannins but appears to have the intensity for a slow evolution in bottle. David Rossignol notes that these vines, planted on compact clay, are harvested late, and that a much gentler extraction is carried out for this cuvee
