Tasting notes
(made entirely from Côte Brune fruit and raised in 50% new oak barrels) Inky ruby. Ripe blackberry and cherry aromas are complemented by peppery spice, olive and pungent floral accents. Supple, appealingly sweet and deeply concentrated black and blue fruit flavors become more energetic and spicier with air, and a smoky mineral element adds back-end lift and cut. Chewy tannins add grip to a very long, floral-dominated finish that leaves a subtle licorice note behind.

Fragrant and refreshing, yet without the same fruit purity as their Bassenon. Even so, this is layered and lengthy and complex with violets, piquant spices and baked bramble fruits on the length. Holds loads of future potential. (RH)
