Tasting notes
The 2018 Chablis Vosgros 1er Cru has a modest, rather understated bouquet that takes time to open in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a slightly peachy/pithy opening, orchard fruit mixed with lemon rind and a touch of spice. Good use of extract here, though I would be tempted to broach this in the near future rather than for long-term cellaring. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting.

The 2018 Chablis Vosgros 1er Cru is round, supple and engaging - all qualities that make it an excellent choice for drinking upon release; this is one of the reasons Benoit Droin bottled it on the early side. Soft contours bring out a core of apricot, white flowers and tropical inflections. This is a very pretty, approachable Chablis.
Thereâs a creamy edge here with a glossy peach-curd nose and a palate that offers a fleshy and rich, smooth and round feel. Drink now.
