The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet Village, which I tasted from a used barrel, has a ripe mulberry-scented bouquet, slightly floral in style and much better defined compared to the Bourgogne Rouge. The palate is a little chewy on the entry with a lot of dry extract. Grippy and assertive toward the finish, where I would like to see more flesh and charm. A little tough at the moment.
