This remains lean and mean despite the years of rest it's had. It's very acidic, with lemon-rind flavours and a smoky, salty tang. Needs food. (TQT)

This is quite restrained in comparison with its stablemate from the Pechstein, offering aromas dominated by green herbal nuances. The mouthfeel is plush, and there is a subtly oily sense of glycerol-richness. Bittersweet nutty piquancy, intriguing herbal notes and mouthwatering salinity align on the lingering, layered finish.

A fresh minty breeze is all the nose is prepared to reveal at this stage. The palate is more forthcoming with a delightful hint of juicy peach and just a touch of salty minerality. There is a suspicion of wood; but if it is used for structure (as it is here) and not as a flavouring agent – I am all in favour. (MS)
