Revisited from bottle, the 2017 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Baudes has turned out to be another of the highlights of the range this year, bursting with aromas of cherries, black raspberries, grilled squab, rose petals and sweet soil tones. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered, with fine concentration, lively acids and powdery tannins.

Mid cherry red. Unexpectedly darker fruited than the Gevrey Fonteny yet fragrant with peppery spice. Dry and chewy on the palate but with a lovely line of freshness through the middle adding to the length. Chalky texture at the moment. (JH)
The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Baudes 1er Cru has a more refined bouquet than the domaine’s other Premier Crus, this more detailed and focused with the 100% new oak showing better integration. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy ripe black fruit, good depth, supple in the mouth with a persistent finish. This is certainly one of my favourites from Serafin this year.
