Score 92/100 · Drink 2020-2030, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Feb 2018

The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino shows impressive balance with a dark appearance that is not heavy and a compact texture that remains light and elegant all at once. Bold cherry fruit segues to licorice, tar and tangy cedar wood. The wine is silky and fresh with moderate to long persistence.

Mid to deep ruby. Not very expressive on the nose and with a hint of smoke. Focused cherry fruit with powdery tannins. Reluctant to open up. Gripping, long finish paired with a certain lightness of touch. (WS) (JR)
