Score 89-91/100 · Drink 2016-2026, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2014
The 2013 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru les Macherelles comes from four parcels, the oldest vines more than 80 years old. The nose is a delight: expressive orange sorbet, quince and hints of peppermint forming what is a very vivacious set of aromatics. The palate is fresh and vibrant, with impressive concentration and depth, veins of orange zest and citrus lemon near the linear finish that needs to evolve just a tad more complexity to merit the bouquet. This should be an intriguing taste once in bottle.
