Tasting notes
This has lovely grapefruit freshness, as well as candied-grapefruit richness, which makes it stand out in the Sauternes crowd. On the palate, thereâs a creamy, marzipan note, but the acidity keeps it clean right through the long finish. Drink or hold.

RS 126 g/l, TA 3.9 g/l. Very floral nose. A little simple with a hint of bitterness on the end. Broad; tastes like a dry white bordeaux with sweetness, unusually! (JR)
The 2016 Chateau Caillou appeared to be rather subdued on the nose when I tasted the barrel sample. The palate has a slight bitter edge on the entry, although it improves towards the finish with tangy marmalade complementing the honeyed fruit. This was a little difficult to read at this embryonic stage, but it should come together once in bottle.
