Haag's auctioned 2014 Juffer Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese (Versteigerung) – AP #1515 – displays a very clear and fine bouquet with bright and fresh fruit aromas, along with a nice slate purity and some dashes of lemon juice. Intense and mouth-filling this is a round and piquant, light, clear, fresh and frisky, lovely salty and elegant Spätlese of remarkable finesse and complexity. Great Riesling!

Racy and pure with very mountain-stream fruit though not especially concentrated. Very well delineated. (JR)
This is looser in palate impression than the corresponding Niederberg Helden, but equally delicate and no less juicy. A musky, sweaty side of botrytis – albeit segueing into slight fermentative stink – comes to the fore in the nose, but the peachy fruit is purer than expected, and the finish refreshes and stimulates even as it caresses, with an undertone of set stone serving to remind us that we’re on the Mosel.
Lots of spice on the nose, slightly damped down by the SO2 of youth. Rich, sweet and still mouthwateringly fresh. (JH)
