Tasting notes
Glistening ruby. Smoke-accented aromas of cherry and dark berries, licorice and candied flowers, along with an herbal nuance that builds in the glass. Sweet, seamless and broad in the mouth, offering juicy red and dark fruit flavors and a hint of spiciness. Supple tannins add shape to a persistent finish that echoes the spicy note.

Mostly Grenache yet with 15% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah, and a splash of Cinsault and Clairette, the 2018 Châteauneuf Du Pape has an old school, meaty, almost marine-like bouquet that has plenty of dark cherry and currant fruits, some nori and iron nuances, medium body, a straight, focused textured and present tannins. It’s a classic Châteauneuf du Pape that will evolve for 8-10 years with no issues.
Matured in a mix of foudres, tanks and barriques, Perrin's 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape boasts scents of leather and earth on the nose, alongside notes of black olives, asphalt and black cherries. Full-bodied, concentrated and richly textured, it's a solid effort, with a lingering finish that's more supple than typical at this address.
