The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Veroilles has a lifted liquorice tinged bouquet with plenty of black cherry and blueberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with repeating liquorice tinged black fruit but just missing a little definition on the finish. A bit out of sorts at the moment.

Cask sample. Scented and polished. A little muscular for a Chambolle but very honest and straightforward. Good peacock’s tail on the end which is a good sign. But this is not for lovers of finesse above all. (JR)
The 2018 Chambolles-Musigny Les Veroilles comes across a little gawky on the nose, just missing the cohesion of Bruno Clair’s Marsannays. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, crisp red berry fruit, a touch of white pepper and a slightly short finish at the moment. It just needs to gain more flesh.
