Lots of pure berry fruit, a little sappiness and a rather light body. Good easy-drinking stuff with lovely melting tannins. A little liquorice and leather adds authentic Bordeaux character. (RH)

Pomegranate, plum, smoke and game are some of the notes that jump from the glass in the 2013 Vieux Lartigue. The flavors are quite bold, punchy and primary in the glass. Today, some slightly angular contours remain. Hints of tobacco, game and grilled herbs linger on the sauvage finish. It will be interesting to see what further time in barrel brings.
