The 2016 Brut Zéro Grand Blanc was picked in Grand Cru sites only, fermented and aged in oak and made without any added sulfur dioxide. It spent just over six years on lees. A beautiful sense of peppery sourdough bread, slightly toasted, is the first impression on the nose, later on, creaminess and sponge cake follow. The palate has a smooth, buttery roundness, countered by brisk bubbles that seem to disperse saltiness. What is impressive, though, is the depth of flavors and the deep sense of chalkiness. This is easy to enjoy but so profound, rounded with pleasure and fine foam. Dosage is 1 gram per liter. Disgorged: August 2023. - Anne Krebiehl MW
