Score 88/100 · Drink 2016-2024, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Jun 2016
The Terre del Barolo 2010 Barolo is a simple wine that shows the budding complexity you should expect of this noble grape variety found in Northwest Italy. This is Barolo for beginners and the wine offers a smooth set of aromas that are characteristic of the grape. You get dried cherry, white mushroom, tar, licorice and barbecue smoke. The wine shows simple lines in the mouth with moderate intensity and persistence.

Developed-looking mid ruby with brickstone tinges. Sweet, ethereal and balsamic and with a hint of bacon, but overall lacking in focus. Almost a little leathery. Smoky and stalky on the palate and a little hard on the finish. Fruit is reluctant to come out. (WS)
