Score 16.5/20 · Drink 2023-2028, Jancis Robinson MW, Oct 2023

Full bottle 1,341 g. A vintage likened to 2009 with very early budburst, then hot and dry with a record-breaking July heatwave. Cooler nights in September and some rain leading to an Indian summer. Their second red wine, a blend from 30-year-old Syrah vines, 28- to 35-year-old Mourvèdre and 28-year-old Grenache with some old Cinsault and Carignan. Aged in oak, 30% new. 8,400 bottles produced. Very deep crimson. Rich, sweet nose suggests a sumptuously smooth, bramble palate which indeed is delivered until a little charry, stony chew on the end – very Larzac! Clearly a lot of effort has gone into this wine which is probably the best buy of the current range being sold by Corney & Barrow. The structure suggests that, as well as enjoying it now, you could profitably cellar it. Just a hint of heat on the end. (JR)

Lots of Christmas spice, herbes de Provence, and savory red and black fruits emerge from the 2019 Terrasses Du Larzac Las Flors, a medium to full-bodied, elegant blend of mostly Grenache that spent two years in 10% new oak. It's medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced, has a remarkable sense of elegance, and ultra-fine tannins that carry through the finish.

Beautiful kirsch and black cherry fruits as well as spice, peppery herbs, and candied flower notes all emerge from the 2019 Terrasses Du Larzac Las Flors, a medium to full-bodied, pure, layered, seamless beauty that will compete with any number of top Chateauneuf du Pape. It will keep for 10-12 years with no issues.

Full bottle 1,330g. Just a bit more overblown than the 2020 but pretty emphatic and rich. Sweet and spicy with nothing held back! Some may criticise it for being too big but it's well balanced in its own idiom. (JR)
