Score 90-92/100 · Drink 2020-2035, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2015
The 2014 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux St Jacques, which includes around 85% whole cluster fruit and is aged entirely in new wood, has a very floral violet-infused, cassis-scented bouquet. The palate is full-bodied with grainy, slightly furry tannin. There is a lot of weight in the mouth, although the acidity cuts through it, and the wine shows a touch of earthiness towards the finish. It will need several years in bottle.
