Tasting notes
This bottle of 2020 Thieuley is elegantly classic on its own, revealing aromas of licorice, pencil lead, dark chocolate and dark berries mingled with a touch of leaves and green pepper. Medium-bodied, seamless and concentrated, with lively acids and a youthfully firm, typically 2020 finish, it will reward a little patience of two to three years.

The 2020 Thieuley is nicely controlled on the nose with blackberry, bilberry and light floral scents. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, simple but fresh with a welcome and for the vintage, uncommon austerity on the finish. But that's no bad thing.
Property owned by Marie et Sylvie Courselle. 45% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Sémillon, 15% Sauvignon Gris. Maceration: 24 hours. Fermentation in stainless steel, no malo. Aged on fine lees in stainless steel for 3 to 6 months. Bottled March 2021. RS 0.21 g/l, TA 3.6 g/l, pH 3.55, SO 2 total 95 mg/l, free 25mg/l. Classic Bordeaux Blanc at a very good price. The herbal freshness of Sauvignon with the richer texture of Sémillon. Crisp, cedary, quite lean overall. (JH)
