The really intense black-fruit aromas of this wine enable it to carry effortlessly the new oak, and the bold, dry tannins are also rather well integrated. A little bit simple on the finish.

Super-ripe plum, licorice and lavender are some of the notes that give the 2014 Mayne-Lalande its bold, racy personality. Readers should expect a ripe, flamboyant style, even though the wine's structure is very much medium in body. The 2014 is a gorgeous wine with a lot to offer.

The 2014 Mayne-Lalande is exotic, bold and quite beautiful. Inky blue and black fruits and the full-throttle style suggest a late harvest, but there is plenty of underlying structure to carry fruit as well. Attractive spice and leather overtones add nuance as the wine opens up. The 2014 should be a terrifc value.
