The 2010 Pouilly-Fuisse Tete de Cru Les Perrieres is a little beauty. It shimmers on the nose with expressive scents of lime, lemon thyme and citrus lemon that are all exquisitely defined. The palate is beautifully balanced, the oak prominent at first but melting into the fabric of the wine with continued aeration. There is a touch of minerality toward the finish that simply fans out and lingers long in the mouth. This is just superb. Domaine J.A. Ferret was founded in 1850 and passed through a female line of succession that had the nous to bottle themselves, long before the practice became common. Beaune-based Louis Jadot acquired Ferret in 2008 following the passing of Colette Ferret without heir. Audrey Braccini is the present winemaker and she is doing an excellent job because some of these wines are equal to Jadot-s Premier and even Grand Crus. Importer: Kobrand Inc., Purchase, NY; tel.
