Tasting notes
(vinified with 65% whole clusters): Good full red. A bit less obviously ripe and more medicinal than the foregoing 2015s, with its dark berry flavors overshadowed in the early going by smoke, earth and a slightly peppery greenness. Then quite clenched in the middle palate, with the herb and pepper notes following through. Today I don't find the sweetness of the vintage's better examples. Finishes with slightly drying tannins. Roumier finds this wine suave but today it's quite tight and in need of patience.

Tank sample. All Mazoyères, quite high up, written on the label. Rich and round, really sumptuous! Wow! A really dramatic 2015. Big and bold with lots of rich fruit but nothing remotely fat. Big and bold. And gorgeous. (JR)
