Yellow-gold. Soil-driven aromas of menthol hazelnut, olmond, mint, honey and medicinal herbs showing everything but primary fruit. Then energetic and exatic in the mouth boasting explosive density and depth and a tactile impression of dry extract. As solid as a top red wine today. A wine of near-medicinal austerity, finishing with lovely menthal Tift. This will need several years to integrate its acidity and underlying storty minerality

A mildly exotic and clearly ripe nose also exhibits a faint hint of lactic acid that detracts marginally from the overall appeal of the aromas. There is excellent power and intensity however to the imposingly dense and almost painfully intense flavors that are just flat out amazingly long and dripping with a pungent minerality. This is by no means a refined wine, indeed it is borderline rustic yet it is indisputably dramatic. Note that my score does offer the benefit of the doubt that the lactic aspect of the nose is not permanent and only a post-bottling phenomenon. Drink 2020+
