The 2022 Château Le Thil is based on 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc that was brought up 14 months in 30% new French oak. It has ripe black cherries, roasted herbs, and scorched earth notes in a medium to full-bodied, round, textured, moderately tannic wine that will drink nicely for a decade.
The 2022 Le Thil has a straightforward bouquet with redcurrant and cranberry fruit and touches of potpourri in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with a pleasant, fleshy opening. Soft-textured, with just a dab of balsamic, moderate depth and fine acidity, this sashays along nicely toward the finish.
A linear and focused palate with blackberries, currants and light walnuts as well as firm and polished tannins. It\'s medium-bodied and chewy at the end. 95% merlot and 5% cabernet sauvignon. Drink in two or three years.
