Tasting notes
From what proprietor Laurence Feraud terms a "lighter" year, the 2021 Cotes du Rhone Villages Cuvee Setier is a striking success, boasting layers of mulberry, cassis and blueberry fruit. A blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre and 20% Syrah, it's medium to full-bodied, silky and fine, with a long, dustily tannic finish that practically demands red meat.

Bottled, the 2021 Côtes Du Rhône Villages Setier has a juicy, lively, classic style as well as medium-bodied aromas and flavors of sweet red and black fruit, ground pepper, and some game, meaty, incredibly Provençal nuances. It has tons of character and charm. These Chateau Pegau releases come from an estate just south of Chateauneuf du Pape. They make a Côtes Du Rhône Blanc and two reds, a Côtes Du Rhône Maclura and a Côtes Du Rhône Villages Setier. The wines are always well made and certainly have a subtle touch of classic Pegau character and complexity.
