The 2022 Château Clarke is based on 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 16 months in barrel. Juicy red and blue fruits, smoky oak, graphite, and some floral/herbal notes all define the 2022, a medium to full-bodied, rich, well-oaked, impeccably made Listrac.

The 2022 Clarke has a lively nose with notes of redcurrant and raspberry fruit, touches of sous-bois and brown spice aromas. It's quite open and "ready for action," so to speak. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins. It's softer in texture than I would have anticipated from barrel with a slightly savory yet pleasing finish. Give this a couple of years in bottle.
A deep set of black cherries, dark chocolate and cocoa powder. A touch of paprika and cigars as well. Medium- to full-bodied and fleshy with very firm, fine-grained tannins and a long, dusty finish. 70% merlot and 30% cabernet sauvignon. Drink from 2026.
Great quality, stands out in Listrac for its supple tannins, plump black cherry and pomegranate fruits, black tea, crayon, cappuccino and cocoa dusting. Leans into the vintage, feels ripe, but has balance and charm, with chalky tannins.
About the producer
This property was purchased by Baron Edmond de Rothschild in 1973 who promptly started renovating the estate. Today Baron Benjamin de Rothschild and his wife Ariane continue his legacy, focused firmly on quality.
