Leathery, fragrant and sweet-fruited on the nose. Fine tannins, high acid, with a candied, cordial note on the finish. Great concentration. (RH)

The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Village is the customary blending of ten parcels. It is interesting to compare this with the non-sulphur blend. There is more fruit on the nose: black cherries and raspberry, a subtle floral aroma. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a little more weight than the non-SO2 with a quite dense and grippy finish. I would just like a little more flesh here and more length.
