Score 91-93/100 · Drink 2023-2038, Neal Martin, Jan 2020
The 2018 Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru is an elusive cuvée; around 220 bottles (meaning just over half a barrel) were produced this year. The bouquet is ripe and quite generous, offering pure scents of maraschino cherries, wild strawberry and veins of blueberry. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannins, good depth and grip and a touch of brown spices toward the finish, which delivers good length. Very fine – and good luck finding a bottle.
