Here is another excellent wine from Brovia. The 2020 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione is angular and sharp with fine, firm tannins and a beautiful bouquet that opens slowly to tart cherry aromas, blue flower, crushed stone and fleur de sel. Those mineral sensations cut right into the finish, giving shape and contouring. This is a generous vintage with bright, accessible and incredibly charming qualities. Production is 5,000 bottles.

The 2020 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione is a sexy, racy wine. Pliant and deep, the 2020 is a great example of this site. Soft contours wrap around a core of dark red fruit, kirsch, spice, menthol, new leather and licorice. Time in the glass brings out the wine's stunning inner perfume, that most Rocche of signatures. Deep and layered, with exceptional balance, the 2020 is a striking, captivating wine that captures the best the vintage had to offer.
Castiglione Falletto. Lustrous youthful mid ruby. Subdued except for the immediate minerally notes. Still very closed but layered and complex with a hint of morocco leather. With aeration becomes more perfumed. On the palate fantastic transparency and minerality. Elegant. Great precision and purity. A layer of compact raspberry with long-lasting grip of grainy tannins. Succulent finish but closes up quickly. (WS)
