Saturated violet color. Assertive black and blue fruit, licorice candy, olive, violet, mocha and exotic spice scents pick up a smoky mineral quality as the wine opens up. Offers mineral-kissed, bitter cherry, blackberry and fruitcake flavors that show superb depth and are supported by a core of juicy acidity. The spicy note recurs on a strikingly long, chewy finish that displays youthful tannic grip and lingering suggestions of licorice and candied flowers. 50% new oak.

Primary, mineral-accented dark fruit aromas are complemented by suggestions of incense, vanilla, candied flowers and exotic spices. Deeply concentrated blueberry, bitter cherry, fruitcake and violet pastille flavors slowly turn sweeter as the wine opens up. Shows outstanding energy and mineral thrust for its brawn and finishes very long and chewy, with steadily building tannins and repeating blue fruit and floral character. 50% new barriques.
