Score 90/100 · Drink 2024-2032, Neal Martin, May 2023
The 2020 Brouilly has quite a feisty bouquet with dark cherries, boysenberry jam and touches of pressed violets bursting forth. Affording this 10 minutes in the glass, it coheres nicely. The medium-bodied palate has supple tannins. Quite fleshy with ample depth, blackcurrant mixed with oregano and clove towards the intense finish. Quite "punchy" for Lapalu and as such, I would afford it a couple more years in bottle.
