Tasting notes
The 2016 Reserva Howard's Folly is a 65/35 blend of Syrah and Alicante Bouschet, aged for 12 months in an equal mixture of new and used oak (mostly French). It comes in at 15.2% alcohol. This is a high-personality red that expresses its grapes beautifully. It surrounds the beautiful fruit with freshness and elegance. This is tamed by the advanced age, but it is actually in a perfect place right now. Let's lean up for the moment. This does need to show it can keep holding on throughout the decade. It should have no problem.
