2003 Bandol Tourtine

When I first opened this, it showed huge mushroom and earth notes but after a couple hours in the decanter, it was amazingly clean and surprisingly ripe and fruity. Blueberry, blackberry, earth, wood and subtle mushroom notes show up and this would be locked up tight one moment and then singing the next. The palate was medium to full bodied and while very tight, it showed pure, ripe fruit, big structure and subtle tannins on the long finish.
