Tasting notes
The Traditional 2018 Côtes du Jura was produced with 80% Chardonnay and 20% Savagnin, both with a veil of flor. The two varieties fermented and aged separately in barrels and were blended at the end of the élevage. I tasted this wine last year, and since then, it has gained in balance and elegance and feels more polished and subtler, and it's round and sleek.

The 2018 Côtes du Jura is a powerful rendition of this cuvée, registering at 14.8% alcohol. It blends the usual 80% Chardonnay and 20% Savagnin and reflects the intensity of the warm growing season in its ample weight. Even so, there is plenty of laser-like acidity woven through the wine, bringing balancing freshness. The 2018 finishes with a deliciously nutty note, making this a notably hedonistic Macle that packs a solid punch. (Lot 9)
