The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Village has a crisp, pure bouquet of brambly red fruit, light rose petal aromas and touches of black currant leaf emerging with time. There is more backbone to this Vosne-Romanée than I expected. Well balanced, but just a little clipped toward the finish.
Gorgeous aromas of dried roses and dark berries with strawberries and spice. Medium to full body, round and juicy tannins and a flavorful finish. Drink or hold.
Aromas of spicy wild berries, grilled game and dark chocolate introduce the 2017 Vosne-Romanée Village, a medium-bodied, succulent wine with an open-knit chassis of chalky tannin. It's a credible effort, but it isn't as fine as either the Gevrey or Chambolle Village.
