The 2013 Nénin has a light nose with raspberry and strawberry fruit that soon ebb to reveal tobacco and forest floor scents. The palate is medium-bodied with soft tannins, but there is freshness here. There is more depth on the finish compared to other Right Bank wines. With low expectations, you might well enjoy this Pomerol. Tasted at Bordeaux Index's 10-Year On tasting.

Transparent garnet. Quite severe fruit though it's reasonably sincere and is not forced or over-extracted. Luncheon claret? (JR)
A murmur of raspberry and redcurrant fruits, and although the acidity level is high, there is attractive sculpting through the body of the wine, with a twist of gunsmoke on the finish. The fine tannins fine are still in evidence, but drop away through the palate, and I would suggest enjoying now and over the next five years. 35% new oak
The 2013 Nénin has a light, slightly green bouquet that never gets out of second gear and lacks fruit intensity. The palate is defined by rustic, dry tannin, a little green around the edges, with a tapered and rather dilute finish. Drink this soon.
