Tasting notes
Good deep, bright red. Musky red cherry and raspberry aromas are complicated by marzipan and a hint of soil. Sweet, intense and vinous, with captivating inner-mouth perfume and integrated acidity. The firm tannins hit the palate late, allowing this cool, energetic, very pure wine to blossom on the back. Tannins are firm but not at all dry. A superb vintage for this bottling, and built for a graceful evolution in bottle.

Moderately saturated bright red. Pure, reticent nose offers scents of black cherry, red berries, wild herbs and licorice, plus a whiff of smoky reduction. Juicy, intense and sharply delineated, with lovely lift to the flavors of wild red fruits. Firmly structured wine with building fine-grained tannins and excellent savory grip. (The Beaune Aigrots was too reduced to rate.)
