This quasi-monopole that was reclaimed from scrubland high on the slope in the 1950s and '60s is a terrific terroir that tends to age at a glacial pace, and the 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru En Virondot is a promising rendition. Wafting from the glass with notes of citrus zest and crisp stone fruit mingled with white flowers, wet stones and hazelnuts, it's medium to full-bodied, chiseled and racy, with a tightly wound core and a long, mineral finish.
