Score 90/100 · Drink 2022-2029, Neal Martin, Aug 2022
The 2020 Saint-Véran En Faux comes from two parcels close to the Beaujolais limit on granite soils. This contains more mineralité and terroir-expression than the regular cuvée, quite finessed, never powerful. The palate is well balanced with a much great spice of acidity, slightly resinous in texture but with plenty of tension and "bite" on the finish. Recommended.

The 2020 Saint-Véran En Faux, taken from cask, has a splendid, quite energetic malic nose that bodes well for the future. The palate is still very primal, but it exhibits fine weight and depth, delivering a lightly spiced and quite persistent finish. Good potential.
