Score 86-88/100 · Drink 2017-2021, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Apr 2015
The Château Bellevue La Randée 2014 has a slightly disjointed bouquet at first, requiring two or three minutes aeration to really coalesce. The aromatics tidy themselves up, delivering a rather broody and introspective nose of black plum and violets, almost Margaux-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp, slightly hard tannin at the moment. The palate does not quite offer the breeding of the nose, feeling just a little clipped toward the dry finish at the moment. Nothing terrible here. Just nothing to send tingles down the spine.
