Tasting notes
Bright violet. Ripe dark berries, licorice, olive and a hint of succulent flowers on the perfumed nose. Juicy and open-knit; a peppery element adds lift and cut to fresh blackberry and bitter cherry flavors. The mineral-accented finish shows very good focus and length, closing on a gently tannic note and leaving cherry pit and floral notes behind.

Coming from the Pont-de-l'Isère region of Crozes, the 2015 Crozes-Hermitage Les Pierrelles sports a deep, inky color as well as terrific notes of blackberries, ground herbs, pepper and ample minerality. Medium to full-bodied, with building tannin and notable purity, it's going to drink beautifully for a decade or more. I always love the wines from this tiny estate and they’ve made a number of brilliant wines in 2015.
Belle's 2015 Crozes Hermitage les Pierrelles is an awfully good entry-level Crozes. It's atypically concentrated and intense, but that's the vintage speaking, providing leather and dried fruit notes and rich tannins. I don't know whether it will age well, but it makes for fine drinking now and over the next few years.
