Tasting notes
Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Zýmè 2016 Harlequin (in an extremely heavy and chunky glass bottle) is vintner Celestino Gaspari's top-shelf wine, and it's one of the most powerful editions we've seen so far. This is a syrupy and inky wine with black nuances and plenty of ripe fruit. The incredible blend is Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah, plus four white grapes: Garganega, Trebbiano Toscano, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The wine is so extracted it actually tastes resinous and sweet like maple syrup or Port wine. There is a lot to take in. Only 3,500 bottles were made.
