Tasting notes
50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot. Total skin maceration for more than 25 days. Aged in French barriques for 18 months, followed by 12 months in bottle. Impenetrable deep ruby. Brooding, deep and savoury more than fruity with hints of Moroccan leather and rhubarb. Succulent, mouth-filling and yet supple and elegant. Tangy cherry fruit palate with long, fine-ground tannins. A finely balanced whole and the 15% alcohol goes pretty much unnoticed. (WS)

The flagship wine from Tenuta Sette Ponti is the 2018 Oreno, a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. This is a dark, concentrated and full-bodied expression that exudes black fruit and blackberry with spicy tobacco and savory spice. Despite the Bordeaux blend in its DNA, the wine is fully Tuscan in character and spirit, with the softness and fullness that comes from fruit cultivated under the golden sunshine of Central Italy.
Tight and beautiful with a fine line of tannins that run straight through the center palate. Medium to full body. Closed and polished. Excellent.
