A powerful, burly wine, the 1982 Sammarco has reached its maturity, especially in its bouquet, although it preserves quite a bit of intensity on the palate. Broad and ample, the 1982 is another wine that, while resolved, has aged with grace. It is evident the 1982 once possessed remarkable energy, as traces of its brightness and tannin remain. What a treat it is to taste the 1982 today.
