Another highlight this year is the 2022 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru, a bright and perfumed wine that checks in at only 13.2% alcohol. Mingling notions of raspberry coulis with scents of rose petals, licorice and exotic spices, it's full-bodied, deep and fine-boned, with a layered core of fruit, bright acids and a pure, saline finish.
When bottled carries the name Christophe Roumier. Cask sample. Clear, bright mid-pale ruby. Sweet red fruits with a veil of wafted violets. Lots of spice and concentration here. Mineral – makes me think of the graphite running through a pencil. Ripe, concentrated and precisely defined. Excellent definition. (MH)
